First Job (part-time) : Charter flights consolidator (1970-1972)

When François was a student at the Business School in Paris he already was quite busy organising together with a partner charter flights to North America for cultural groups as well as students from various universities.  This activity gave him many opportunities to travel to North America for short periods during the course of his university. programme.

Second job : Deputy Director of Pointe-à-Pitre/Le Raizet International Airport (1972-1974)

At the end of his university programme in Paris, François had to perform his military duties.  Instead of going to the army, he was sent as a civil servant to Pointe-à-Pitre to take the position of Deputy Director of the airport for a 18 month period.  His main activities were in the establishment of a statistical base to monitor the evolution of traffic and in the promotion of the airport services, in particular to attract new carriers for new services to Guadeloupe.

Third job : Air transport economist at R. Dixon Speas Associates, an aviation consultant subsidiary of Planning Research Corporation (PRC), in New York (1974-1977).

François was very quickly hired by a famous aviation consulting firm in New York (R. Dixon Speas), as soon as he completed his military duties in Guadeloupe, to join their staff of consultants.  R. Dixon Speas took care personally, with the assistance from an excellent lawyer, of obtaining the immigrant visa for him (the green card).  He got it within 3 months.

François was responsible for various research projects such as airport traffic forecasts, economic viability of route development for various airlines, traffic analyses, etc.  Since he was the only person to speak French in the company, he was given the responsibility of developing business activities with French speaking African States in West Africa.

Fourth job : Air transport economist and consultant at the International Air Transport Association (1977-to 2004).

François was hired by IATA when he was in New York and then moved to Geneva in 1977 to join an air transport research team.   He was also heading delegations of airline representatives in missions organised in various world countries to negotiate airport and en-route user charges.  He speaks quite often at various conferences, presenting IATA traffic forecasts and explaining airline strategies and their influence on airport activity profiles.  The end of his career with IATA was on 18 March 2004 when he gave his resignation, after having headed the Air Transport Consultancy Team which desagregated following the closing of the London Office.

Fifth job : Chief Airport Consulting, Airclaims International Transport & Tourism Consultancy (June 2004 to present).

François joined the ex-IATA London team now under Airclaims.  Four of the persons who were part of the IATA Consulting team have now moved out of IATA to work together under the company Airclaims (www.airclaims.com)
