François is an air transport economist, working for the
International Air Transport Association (IATA). He traveled over 2.2 million
kilometres, on 64 airlines, visited 74 countries and 116 airports around the world.
He is also a photographer. He took over 45,000 photos (color slides) and won
international photo contests. He designed this web site. François is a member of a research team working together on projects for airlines, airports and government agencies. He is now based in Montreal, whereas the rest of the team is based in London. Purpose of this site François receives many calls from aviation researchers who look for aviation related information. He gives advice on where to find what and what is behind the statistical figures. So this site was created with the objective of helping air transport researchers who work for airlines or airports to better find their way through their research work. It is also addressed to people who want to know more about myself and my activities. Structure of this site This site is built around François Dormoy's travel experience. His experience in air transport research should place him in a good position to recommend interesting sites, give interesting contacts in the industry and make recommendations for things to do and not to do when travelling around the world or when collecting travel statistics from various countries. |
